Important differences

  • Eligibility: NMIMS requires at least 50% in Class 12 (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD). DPU-COL publishes no minimum percentage — a Class 12 pass in any stream meets its criteria.
  • Specialisations: DPU-COL names 9 tracks, including IT & Systems, International Business, BFSI and Shipping & Logistics. NMIMS names 3 — Marketing, Finance and Business Analytics.
  • Fee: NMIMS's published total starts lower for the Marketing or Finance elective track; DPU-COL charges a single flat fee regardless of specialisation. Confirm the current amount for your track with a counsellor.
  • Assessment: NMIMS uses a "holistic" mix of case-based internal assessment and a proctored online term-end exam per subject. DPU-COL uses proctored term-end examinations plus assignments and project work.
  • Both run three years across six semesters with a six-year window to finish, and both degrees are UGC-entitled (DPU-COL is NAAC A++, NMIMS CDOE is NAAC A+).
  • Recognition abroad: DPU-COL's record names World Education Services (WES) recognition; NMIMS's verified recognitions do not name an international credential-evaluation body.

Who may prefer each option

You may prefer DPU if:

  • You want a specialisation outside the marketing/finance/analytics core — IT & Systems, International Business, BFSI, Retail, E-Commerce or Shipping & Logistics.
  • Your Class 12 aggregate is below 50% and you do not have a reserved-category relaxation.
  • WES recognition matters for a future application to study or work abroad.
DPU Online

You may prefer NMIMS if:

  • You are focused specifically on Marketing, Finance or Business Analytics.
  • You prefer continuous, case-based internal assessment alongside the exams.
  • The lower published fee on the Marketing or Finance track fits your budget.

Common questions

  • Is DPU or NMIMS better for an online BBA?

Neither is "better" in the abstract — SkillBridge does not rank them. NMIMS has a stricter Class 12 requirement and a narrower, more focused set of specialisations; DPU-COL is open to any Class 12 pass and offers a much wider choice of tracks. The right one depends on your Class 12 result, the specialisation you want and how you prefer to be assessed. Use Help Me Choose or talk to a counsellor.

  • Which is cheaper, DPU or NMIMS Online BBA?

On the current verified figures, NMIMS's published total for the Marketing or Finance elective track is lower than DPU-COL's flat fee. NMIMS's Business Analytics track costs more. Both charge exam and re-registration fees on top of the programme fee. Confirm the current amount for your chosen track with a counsellor.

  • Are both the DPU and NMIMS online BBA degrees valid?

Yes. Both are UGC-entitled online degrees from NAAC-accredited deemed universities, and an online degree from a UGC-entitled university carries the same standing as its on-campus version. Each university's recognition status is listed on its SkillBridge page.
