  • Graduates who want a business qualification without pausing their career
  • People switching function or industry who need a broad management base

What you'll study

  • Core management — strategy, operations and organisational behaviour
  • Marketing, finance and accounting fundamentals
  • A specialisation chosen later in the programme
  • Applied case studies and a capstone project

How to choose an Online MBA

The universities on SkillBridge differ on more than price. These are the things worth weighing before you shortlist — a counsellor can talk any of them through with you.

  • Recognition — check the university is UGC-entitled (or UGC-DEB approved) for online degrees, so the qualification is treated the same as its on-campus version. Each university's page shows its verified status.
  • Total cost, not just the headline fee — factor in any admission, examination or re-registration charges, and check whether an EMI is genuinely no-cost. The comparison lists each university's fee and fee structure side by side.
  • Specialisation — confirm the specialisation you want is actually offered and when you choose it; the lists and the timing differ by university.
  • Assessment — check whether exams are proctored online from home or need a test centre, and how much of the grade comes from continuous assessment versus end-of-semester exams.
  • Live-class timing — if live sessions matter to you, check when they are scheduled and whether they are recorded for later.
  • Career support — "placement assistance" is not a job guarantee. Look at what it actually includes (résumé help, mock interviews, hiring-partner access, alumni network) on each university's page.

How an Online MBA is usually structured

This is the general shape of the curriculum. The exact duration, credits, assessment and projects vary by university — each university's page has its own.

  • Around two years of study, arranged as four semesters. The minimum duration, and the longest a university lets you take to finish, both vary.
  • Core management subjects come first — strategy, finance, marketing, operations and organisational behaviour among them. A specialisation is chosen later in the programme and studied through electives.
  • The total number of credits differs by university; each university's page lists its own.
  • How you're assessed varies — assignments and continuous assessment at some universities, end-of-semester or case-based exams at others, often taken online with remote proctoring.
  • A project in the final semester, sometimes with a viva, is common across the programmes on SkillBridge.

Common questions

  • Is an online MBA valid in India?

An online degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC)-entitled university carries the same academic standing as the on-campus version. Each university's recognition status is shown on its SkillBridge page, and a counsellor can confirm it with you.

  • Do I need work experience to apply?

Most online MBA programmes admit graduates directly. Some executive or senior variants ask for work experience. The requirement depends on the university and the specific programme.

  • What is the eligibility for an online MBA?

Universities commonly ask for a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate — often around 50%, sometimes lower for reserved categories. The exact percentage and any subject requirements vary by university; each one's page states its own criteria.

  • How long does an online MBA take?

Online MBA programmes are built for working professionals and are usually studied part-time over roughly two years. The exact duration and weekly study hours vary by university.

  • Can I choose a specialisation?

Yes. Universities commonly offer specialisations such as marketing, finance, human resources, operations and analytics. The available list differs by university.

  • How does admission work for an online MBA?

The general shape is similar across universities: register on the university's own online admissions portal, submit your academic and identity documents, and pay the fee — some universities verify your details or have a counsellor call before confirming your seat. The exact steps, and how long they take, vary by university; each one's page sets out its own process.

  • What support will I get while studying?

Most universities provide a learning platform with recorded lectures and live sessions, some form of academic support such as a mentor or course coordinator, and access to a digital library or study material. Career-related support, such as placement assistance, is described on each university's own page — what's offered and how it works differs by university.

  • How much does an online MBA cost?

Total fees vary noticeably by university. See each university's fee in the comparison above, or in the fee card on its own page — a counsellor can also share the current figure and payment options.

  • How are online MBA students assessed?

Assessment varies by university — some rely mainly on assignments and continuous assessment, others use case-based or end-of-semester exams, often taken online with remote proctoring. Each university's page states its own exam mode, and the comparison above shows it side by side.
